- Hiring, supervising, and evaluating a team of 16 mental health professionals.
- Overseeing program intake activities to ensure eligibility of referrals.
- Collaborating with various stakeholders such as hospital and community providers, County Attorney's Office, District Court personnel, and HSPH personnel.
- Contributing to program goals, data collection, budgeting, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Conducting educational outreach on commitment processes and alternatives.
- Participating in disparity reduction and health equity efforts.
- Engaging in prepetition screening when necessary.
- Providing leadership in alignment with county goals for diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Licensure as an Independent Clinical Social Worker or licensed as a Mental Health Professional in Minnesota and either a Master's degree in social work or related field with experience, a Bachelor's degree in relevant fields with graduate credits and experience, or substantial experience as a Senior Social Worker at Hennepin County.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation within the metro area.
- Experience in a supervisory role, working with diverse populations, mental health services, and clinical assessments.
- Knowledge of relevant statutes, ethical considerations, trauma-informed care, and person-centered thinking.
- Skills in quality improvement, teamwork, and project leadership.

Description
The Behavioral Health division of Human Services Public Health (HSPH) is on the lookout for a Social Work Unit Supervisor to join their team for the Prepetition Screening Program. This role entails overseeing a diverse team and managing the prepetition screening process in accordance with the Minnesota Commitment and Treatment Act, MN Statutes 253B. The Behavioral Health division is dedicated to enhancing the accessibility of mental health and substance use disorder services for residents of Hennepin County.
Location and Work Hours:
This is a hybrid position that involves working on-site at various county locations, in the community, and remotely as needed. Typically, work hours will be from Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. While the role is hybrid, candidates must currently reside in or be willing to relocate to Minnesota or Wisconsin.
New hires for remote or hybrid positions starting between January 2, 2022, and December 31, 2024, will receive support for internet connectivity expenses upon completion of 6 months of service.
