Our client is a fast-growing and prestigious law firm with multiple offices in Maryland, DC, Virginia, and Florida.

We are seeking highly motivated Junior Partner to actively manage cases and manage Associates.

5 + years of Immigration experience is required.

The ideal candidate will be a great communicator, leader, team member, manager, and self-starter. The candidate must also possess good business acumen and the desire to work in a fast-paced, high-volume, high-growth practice.

If selected, the attorney needs the ability to handle a fast caseload, day-to-day interactions with clients and potential clients, manage a large team of paralegals, may be required to cover, and offer assistance to other attorneys of the firm, meet deadlines, and be available to their clients and the firm's partners as needed.

Organizational skills and project management are also essential to the success of the role.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manage a team of Associates

Meet with potential new clients

Coordinate case and legal strategy

Manage multiple cases, paralegals, projects, and deadlines

Train and supervise staff

Prepare and revise court documents

Conduct legal research and write motions, briefs, and memoranda

Keep abreast of legislative changes and judicial case law

Market the law firm's services

May work one selected Saturdays a month as required, with the potential for bonuses for new clients signed during those days

Cross-sell various other practices within the law firm

Handle court hearings and trials

Become an expert on Family Petitions, Asylum, Individual Hearings, SIJIS, U-Visas, Waivers, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS:

J.D. from an ABA Accredited Law School (required)

Active Bar License in MD (or elligble to waive in)

Authorized to work in the US

Fluent in Spanish (required)

Immigration experience (7+ years or more)

Primary base of experience cannot be USCIS, NVC, or business IMM – it MUST be litigation in immigration court (removal defense)

Have attended over 250+ MCHs (master calendar hearings in EOIR). Having attended hearings IN PERSON before the pandemic

Have attended and conducted around 100 (or more) IHs (individual hearings before the immigration court)

MUST have managed other LAWYERS, not just paralegals – lawyers are a unique brand to manage
