Brief Description
The Strategic Sourcing & Procurement Specialist is responsible for:

  • Leading CAP business partner supplier selection and procurement processes by providing timely advise, service, and competitive pricing on goods and services.
  • Manage key strategic suppliers.
  • Operate with mínimal guidance, using independent judgment and decision making.
  • Collaborate with the contracting team to review contracts and identify potential business risks.
  • Consult with all levels of leadership regarding strategic supplier management decisions and negotiation issues to maintain alignment with organizational initiatives.
  • Negotiate complex enterprise/foundational agreements.

Specific Duties
Primary duties and responsibilities of the Strategic Sourcing & Procurement Specialist

  • Participate in multifunctional team meetings as a representative of the Strategic Sourcing & Procurement department.
  • Colead regular business meetings with a broad base of business partner resources
  • Seek to understand the needs of key stakeholders and provide input to their agreements.
  • Lead Request for Proposal / Information / Quotes (RFx) procurement process.
  • Ensure appropriate forms and documents are prepared and approved.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, take initiative, work independently and have strong interpersonal skills.
  • Collaborate on Statements of Work with internal staff including but not limited to contracting, business stakeholders, upper management vendors.
  • Negotiate complex and technical business arrangements including consulting, business and goods services agreements.
  • Review and analyze agreement terms and conditions to ensure alignment with project managers requirements.
  • Review and confirm pricing for all agreements, statements of work, staff augmentation, and general business and goods services agreements.
  • Maintain a holistic view of a supplier relationship and communicate to stakeholders the impacts their agreements have on the organization.
  • Manage current supplier relationships and identify/evaluate potential new suppliers.
  • Take leadership roles in resolving price, delivery, quality or payment related challenges.
  • Serve as resource to others; assist in training and development of Strategic Sourcing and Procurement procedures.
  • Identify savings opportunities and goals.
  • Work with project managers to ensure that Strategic Sourcing and Procurement activities align with project timelines.
  • Ensure communication of Strategic Sourcing and Procurement related technical, marketing, and production information to stakeholders.
  • Other duties as required.

Technical:

Education Experience


Education:


  • College Degree preferred.

Experience:


  • 5+ years general business operations or Strategic Sourcing & Procurement

Related Certifications:


  • CPSM preferred.


Location This role is based out of the Northfield, IL headquarters and must reside within a reasonable commute to the office.
