    As a Robot/Backend Software Engineer at Carbon Robotics you will work alongside your software, mechanical and electrical peers to build AI and robotics products. In particular, you will be involved in the design and implementations of robot side features (75%) and related backend (25%) features.

    You'll do whatever it takes - which might include going to the farm - to ensure our customers have reliable and safe products.

    What you'll do:

    • Partner with Engineering teams to build efficient robotic and cloud software to support our revolutionary Laser Weeding robots and future products.
    • Build and troubleshoot robot software, cloud applications and tooling to support a dynamic and continuous machine learning model training pipeline.
    • What you'll build will help deliver state of the art AI performance to our robots by improving our machine learning pipelines and building associated features.
    • Work with a fast pace nimble software team working on problems that have never been solved before
    • Drive decision through project planning, task delegation and leading problem solving efforts to iterate quickly

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities for Success:

      • Experience as a Software Engineer building on machine and in the cloud software with for Senior) years of programming in Go, Python and C++.
      • Proficiency with modern Linux development environments (e.g. bash, git, docker, etc.)
      • Proficiency with web services (REST/GRPC)
      • Relational databases (MySQL/Postgres/Sqlite) and Non-Relational databases (Redis)
      • General knowledge of observability tools (ex: Prometheus ecosystem) is a plus
      • Effective verbal and written communication skills and a desire to work in multidisciplinary teams
      • BS+ in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field

    Carbon Robotics follows equitable hiring practices. Flexibility in our hiring process allows hiring of talent at levels different from what are posted. The compensation range outlined is based on a target budgeted base salary. Individual base pay depends on various factors such as relevant experience and skill, Interview assessments and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements. Offers are determined using our equitable hiring practices. Carbon Robotics offers additional compensation in the form of benefits premiums, pre-IPO stock options and On Target Earning commissions for appropriate positions. Base pay ranges are reviewed each year. We are committed to the principle of pay equity – paying employees equitably for similar work.

    Carbon Robotics' base salary pay range:

    $140,000—$210,000 USD
