Job DescriptionCollections Specialist II (#2236) – 6 month contract to start, with possible extension
M-F 8-5pm shift. Fully remote. Open to any time zone. Possibility of OT.
Remote
· $18- $20 hourly
· High speed internet connection is require and ability to work in a quite space, free from interruption.
· All roles require – background check and drug screen (No THC tested during pre-employment screenings)
· Must be authorized to work in the US
Equipment on loan for duration of assignment.
Must be returned at end of assignment (Per signed employment agreement).
Summary:
The main function of a collector is to locate and notify customers of delinquent accounts by mail, telephone, or personal visit to solicit payment. A typical collector is responsible for receiving payment, preparing statements to credit department if customer doesn't respond, and keeping records of collection.
Job Responsibilities:
• Receive payments and post amounts paid to customer accounts.
• Locate and monitor overdue accounts.
• Confer with customers by telephone or in person to determine reasons for overdue payments and to review the terms of sales, services, or credit contracts.
• Persuade customers to pay amounts due on credit accounts, damage claims or non-payable checks, or to return merchandise.
• Arrange for debt repayment or establish repayment schedules, based on customers' financial situations.
Skills:
• Verbal and written communication skills, customer service and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage one's time.
• Ability to accurately document and record customer/client information.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and company policies, procedures and regulations as related to collections.
• Previous experience with computer applications, such as Microsoft Word, and any other related collections software a plus.
Education/Experience:
• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2-4 years financial and/or customer service experience required.
A dedicated workspace free of distractions
- Reliable internet with 25Mbps download and 5Mbps upload speeds.
- Ability to connect computer equipment to the internet via ethernet cord.
- Child/dependent care is necessary for the hours in which the teammate works remotely.
- Remote and hybrid teammates are expected to be available during agreed upon hours based on job duties, as decided or scheduled by their manager. Personal tasks and errands should only be performed during scheduled breaks and lunches.
- Use of cameras is expected during meetings and virtual events.
- The company will supply all required equipment to perform duties.
– You are responsible for returning this equipment if your assignment is closed out for any reason.
