    Description

    At Freddie Mac, you will do important work to build a better housing finance system and you'll be part of a team helping to make homeownership and rental housing more accessible and affordable across the nation.

    Are you a developer who has a passion for finance? This position is responsible for software development primarily using the Java tech stack and provides production support for Freddie Mac's Investment & Capital Market BTO applications.

    The Investments and Capital Markets (I&CM) division is responsible for management of the retained portfolio as well as the organizations debt funding, liquidity management and interest-rate hedging.

    The division is also responsible for I&CM securitization.

    Our team directly supports initiatives that strive to help homeowners avoid foreclosure and enable our business partners to make more informed decisions in a constantly evolving market.

    This an engineering opportunity to join a fast-paced team that interacts with all areas of the business, with specific focus on distressed asset management and hedging activities.

    Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience; - 7 years of application development and support coupled with infrastructure experience
    5 years of hands-on experience building solutions in Java.
    5 years of collective experience of Java, Java frameworks, Web Services, SQL, Jenkins, Git Repository, Unix, Linux
    Solid Understanding with databases (Sybase, DB2, SQL Server, Postgres)
    Nice to have experience in HTML, Bootstrap, JDBC, ODBC, Nginx and Gunicorn
    Strong decision making and problem-solving skills and experience with project delivery
    Sound proficiency with Python and Java based technologies.
    Familiarity with Mortgage Industry or direct Freddie Mac Experience is a plus
    Sound technical knowledge and hands on coding experience with delivering Java and Python based projects
    Understand the customer's business processes and the end-to-end software ecosystem in which products operate, including upstream data dependencies and downstream consumers
    Coordinate end to end application onboarding to production
    Some weekend and evening hours will be required
