- Work within the RTI technology stack, including DDS, various programming languages, networking technologies, (real-time) operating systems, and database technologies;
- Work closely with our development and platform teams to find the root cause of these issues;
- Bug fixing and writing test cases based upon the customer use case;
- Create, test and ship engineering builds and patch releases;
- Write best practices and solutions for our knowledge base; provide support status to the support manager and R&D team;
- Troubleshoot networking operation, software performance, scalability, software operation in a variety of operating systems and real-time embedded platforms;
- Lead customer escalations and high priority cases;
- Resolve system performance and analysis problems; and
- Utilize publish/subscribe middleware (Data Distribution Service), distributed systems, peer-to-peer networks, computer networking and operating systems; C/C++, Java, C#, Python and scripting languages to perform the duties described above.

- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field such as Electrical Engineering and Computer Science or a related field, including one (1) year of related software experience with or knowledge of:
- Software design/development, including distributed systems, parallel processing, embedded systems and multiplatform use, software engineering;
- Computer networks and network security for communication middleware and peer-to-peer networks;
- Software development experience through coding in a general purpose programming language;
- Coding in MIPS/x86 assembly, C, C++, Java, JavaScript, Python and C#;
- Excel, Google Sheets, Python tools and databases for data analysis and data visualization;
- Operating Systems, computer architecture and system software fundamentals;
- Open source projects; and
- Debugging skills with debugger GDB.
