    Description

    Social Workers, Case Workers & Clinicians Opportunity (NYC)

    Location: Bronx, Staten Island, Manhattan, Brooklyn and Queens

    POSITION SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Director of Community Mental Health Clinics or his/her designee, within a co-located Article 28 and NYS Article 31 licensed mental health clinic, provides mental health services to children, adolescents and their families using various social work methods, including individual, group and family therapy. These functions are performed under general supervision, necessitating the ability to exercise independent and sound judgment.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:


    • Assesses the social and emotional needs of patients


    • Develops and implements treatment planning and direct clinical services to clients using modalities most appropriate to clients' needs following regulatory agencies' guidelines.


    • Coordinates social work services and patient referrals between the program and other agencies providing an array of services.


    • Updates and maintains case records


    • Remains available for crisis intervention as the need arises


    • Attends all clinical and administrative meetings ( e.g. utilization reviews, case conferences, administrative meetings)


    • Work with a multidisciplinary team.


    • Performs other related duties, as required.

    SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:


    • Bachelor's Degree preferred


    • Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred


    • Basic knowledge of DSM-V, mental status, and psychosocial assessments preferred.


    • Ability to work effectively with children, adolescents, and families from a wide range of cultural, social, and economic backgrounds.


    • Computer literate, including Microsoft Word.


    • Good engagement, assessment, and crisis intervention skills; able to understand the impact of self in working with clients
