- Review supply and demand, procure and maintain necessary parts and material for efficient production.
- Manage and develop global and domestic suppliers for necessary performance.
- Negotiate and manage contracts for purchases.
- Manage projects from initial planning to completion.
- Expedite purchase orders with suppliers.
- Create and maintain documents as needed.
- Collaborate with internal departments to ensure products purchased are in accordance with project goals.
- Keep accurate records of purchases made and respond to written and verbal messages.
- Build and maintain relationships with suppliers.
- Seek and maintain cost savings initiatives and report out on a quarterly basis.
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain or business-related field.
- 5+ years of purchasing and sourcing experience.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes with steel knowledge preferred.
- Ability to multi-task, work collaboratively as well as independently in a dynamic environment.
- Ability to understand and communicate basic engineered drawings and specifications.
- Proficient with MS Office applications, ERP systems (Epicor).
- Able to solve problems quickly and effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively negotiate and manage supplier relationships.
- Excellent communication, attention to detail, good written and oral skills a must.
