Position Description
Plans, coordinates, publicizes, and implements special events, including social events, recognition celebrations, conferences, and meetings. Facilitates production of events by coordinating with performing groups, arranging publicity, and approving expenditures.
Major/Essential Functions
Plan, coordinate, and execute programs for prospective and admitted students, high school counselors and community college advisors including assurance that prescribed activities are carried out in accordance with specified objectives.
Negotiate and execute contracts for venues, hotels, dcor, audio/visual, food and beverage, etc. This includes the facilitation and timely execution of payments.
Collaborate with academic colleges and other university constituents to develop and implement events related to prospective student recruitment.
Compile inventory reports for events and follow proper channels for securing event inventory and promotional items. Provide regular updates on the shipment of event inventory and promotional items.
Create marketing timelines and follow up with Marketing on deliverables. Monitor and report event marketing activities.
Prepares recurring and ad hoc program reports for management.
Participates in budget planning and is responsible for controlling expenditures in accordance with budget allocations for the program. This includes execution of contracts for venues, dcor, audio/visual, food and beverage, etc.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree plus one year related experience; OR a combination of education and/or related experience equal to five years.
