    Job Description

    Job Summary: The Financial Coach will work with Family Source Center (FSC) participants to assist them in changing financial behavior and building assets. The Financial Coach will work directly with families to help them to reach their financial and asset goals.

    Reports To: FSC Site Director

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Assist participants with goal setting by creating a financial case plan to help build a more financially secure future
    • Assist participants with credit building/repairing
    • Assist participants with creating sustainable budgets, open checking and/or savings accounts and utilizing other financial services
    • Monitor participant progress towards financial goals
    • Maintain file and database for all participants
    • Develop and conduct financial education classes
    • Assist participants with gaining employment by providing workforce development classes, such as: interviewing skills, resume building, job search and educational assistance
    • Identify and refer participants to other resources and services needed to achieve their financial goals
    • Identify and develop relationships with key community partners
    • Coordinate annual VITA Tax Preparation service for the FSC
    • Participates at case conferences, case consultations and other client-related meetings
    • Completes all paperwork in a timely manner
    • And other miscellaneous duties as assigned by the FSC Site Director

    Requirements:

    Must have a BA in Financial or Social Service field or be certified as a financial coach or be a high school graduate with a minimum of four years demonstrated experience providing financial capability programs. Must support Jenesse's mission and philosophy. Must have good communication skills. Must be able to function within a multi-cultural, multi-ethnic setting as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Must show initiative and ability to work with little supervision. Must have proof of US citizenship or authorization to work, as well as reliable transportation, valid California driver's license, and proof of state-required insurance.

    Salary Range: $50,000 - $70,000 Depending upon education and experience
