Description

Under the direction of the Director and Deputy Director, manages all financial, personnel and administrative support services for the Asian American Studies Center.

Major duties include budget administration, preparation and management of Center budget and fiscal control of contracts and grants, advising and implementing campus human resource policies and procedures (payroll, personnel, and benefits), space utilization, and management of gifts to the Center.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated skill in analyzing situations, policies, procedures and financial data to define problems and formulate creative, logical, objective conclusions and solutions. (required)
  • Interpersonal skills to interact diplomatically and sensitively and to maintain cooperative and professional working relationships with faculty, students, and other campus administrators and offices. (required)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of contracts and grants management, from preaward to close out. (required)
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work in a setting with conflicting demands, changing priorities, a wide variety of simultaneous tasks, and heavy workload. (required)
  • Demonstrated skill in all facets of financial analysis, planning, administration and evaluation multimilliondollar budget with multiple funding sources. (required)
  • Knowledge of staff recruiting, hiring, payroll and personnel policies and practices. (required)
  • Ability to supervise and evaluate performance of administrative staff. (required)
  • Demonstrated ability to use spreadsheet and database software; working knowledge of strategic planning, financial management, and facilities support. (required)
  • Extensive and deep skill in University financial planning, management, analysis and reporting (yearly budget projection, yearend closing and C-Big). (required)
  • Strong knowledge of University policy, especially business and finance, and University and agency auditing requirements, as well as Campus Sponsored Research and Extramural Funds Management policies and practices as well as outside agency requirements. (preferred)
  • Working knowledge of payroll and personnel policies and procedures, and ability to analyze and initiate complex compensation over multiple employment classes and union agreements. (required)
  • Strong skill in effectively communicating complex financial, organizational, and other information to multiple constituencies. (required)
