Position Overview Position Title: Postdoctoral Scholar Salary Range: The UC salary scales determine the minimum pay based on rank and appointment step. Discovery Laboratory is actively seeking a Postdoctoral Scholar to work under the supervision of Professor Sanaz Memarzadeh, M.D., Ph.D. at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. The lab is located at the UCLA Eli and Edythe Broad Cell Research Center and has close ties to the Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center and the Molecular Biology Institute. The research conducted at the G.O. Discovery Lab focuses on translational research targeting more effective therapies for gynecologic cancer patients. This position offers the opportunity to be part of a dynamic research team working on projects funded by federal grants and other sources. Ideal candidates will be recent Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D. graduates with expertise in molecular biology, cancer immunology, and translational research. Required skills include experience with various molecular biology techniques, microscopy, immunohistochemistry, FACS analysis, as well as familiarity with viral vectors, stem cells, and genomics. Experience with small animal surgical procedures is highly desirable. The successful candidate should be motivated, have publications in peer-reviewed journals, and be prepared to collaborate closely with the PI and other team members. Responsibilities include mentoring trainees, collecting and analyzing data, creating presentations, drafting manuscripts, and preparing grant applications. The G.O. Discovery Lab is dedicated to upholding the shared values of the DGSOM, as outlined in the Cultural North Star, and actively participates in the David Geffen School of Medicine's Anti-racism roadmap to promote racial justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion.
