Hello,

I am currently a Postdoctoral Research Scientist who is looking to transition into a more clinical role where my research is impactful and relevant in a translational setting. I have over 10 years of research experience studying A) Breast cancer, resistance and cell signaling. B) Aging C) Cellular Senescence 

CPRIT-CURE Program Systems Biology. During this summer internship I worked in the lab of Dr. Francois Xavier Claret on HERS2+ breast cancer and resistance to therapies. Summer of 2016

Lab Assistant Whittier: Responsible for preparing all solutions, gels, reagents and medias. Growing up bacterial cultures and pouring plates, autoclaving all waste, ordering for the Biology Department and setting up all lab sections.

Graduate School ND: During my time in graduate school, I carried out my thesis in the lab of Dr. Zachary Schafer, where I studied the effects of senescence associated secretory phenotype (SASP) factors on normal mammary epithelial cells. Moreover, I found that SASP factors from bleomycin induced senescence or oncogene induced senescence caused non transformed mammary epithelial cells to die by pyroptosis.

Postdoctoral Research Scientist Cedars Sinai: I am currently working a project studying two proteins that are found to be upregulated in stem cells, as well as aggressive and difficult to treat triple negative breast cancer (TNBC) that are found to be binding partners that exist at the cell surface. We are currently working to understand the role of Wnt signaling and other mechanisms at play between TNBC and stem cells and why a potential embryonic mechanism may be reactivated as a means to aid in resistance to therapies. I am the lab manager and responsible for administrative responsibilities such as order, in addition to the experimental design and data generation.
