    Job Description

    As a member of the Rapid Air team, the CNC Mill Set-Up Operator will produce machine components using a computer numerical control, or CNC Machine. Responsible for operating and implementing machine processes as well as keeping accurate records of daily production while maintaining company safety and quality expectations.

    SPECIFIC DUTIES

    · Read blueprints for needed parts.

    · Build own tools, fixtures and set-up.

    · Set-up and manage CNC machines to perform different jobs including drilling, grinding and milling.

    · Basic CNC machine programming as required.

    · Translate engineering drawings and requirements into dimensions for production.

    · Oversee the machines while they execute the tasks and make the necessary changes to produce improved results.

    · Inspect products for accuracy and uniformity.

    · Perform preventative maintenance on machines.

    ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

    · High school diploma or equivalent.

    · Five years or more related manufacturing experience.

    · Mill experience is required.

    · Must be able to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and gauges.

    · Ability to operate in a fast-paced changing environment.

    · Team player; but, able to work with limited supervision.

    In addition to its manufacturing operations, in 1981, Rapid-Air opened a modern, centralized sales, marketing and engineering facility. And it continued to establish the necessary sales network to distribute a broad range of exciting, new and existing product lines. Rapid-Air & MTE Hydraulics headquarters & manufacturing, Rockford, IL. Rapid-Air has a long history of product development in the Press Room Equipment field. Since we are so involved in day to day operations, it is sometimes helpful to reflect on some of our firsts so that we can be prepared to bring these items to the attention of Rapid-Air customers and distributors.
