- Ability to set up, troubleshoot, and operate machinery in secondary department including mills, honing, and lapping machines as a plus.
- Ability to assemble parts as needed
- Verify part quantity with the job traveler
- Make machine adjustments as required to maintain print specifications
- Study and determine the part tolerances and methods of measurement for each job
- Deburr parts when necessary
- Ability to run more than one machine while maintaining run times and quality as required
- Use micrometers, height gages, optical comparators and visual checks for part inspection
- Maintain a clean and organized department and work area
- Communicate with coworkers and supervisor as needed
- Determine when cutters needs replacement or resharpening
- Assist in determining tooling & fixturing needs
- Interpret blue prints
- Complete all necessary paperwork as required in a timely & accurate manner
- Continually analyze and improve machining process to improve efficiency and quality
- Machine programming
