As a Quality Engineer, need to act with safety, efficiency, quality and productivity to assure that products and systems meet stated requirements.

Employs various test protocols and applies standards to ensure quality.

This is a position with global grade13This position reports toQuality ManagerYour responsibilitiesDevelop and implement Project Quality Plan for assigned jobs, Perform Structural, Mechanical and Electrical In-Process inspections of the eHouses at the vendors locationIdentify quality defects or non-conformance issues, generate Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCAR) to the vendors and lead the closure of open quality issues on projectsCo-ordinate and oversee Factory Acceptance Tests at the factories and ensure product conformance to specifications and approved design drawingsCo-ordinate Integrated Factory Acceptance Tests with customer, suppliers, and internal stake holders at the eHouse vendors, lead resolution of punch list elements prior to shipmentRead and interpret as-built electrical equipment and PDC (Power Distribution Center) drawings (single line, general arrangements, schematics and wiring diagrams etc) and communicate effectively with suppliers and customersCo-ordinate installation, integration and testing of electrical equipment inside PDC with supplier(integrator) and field services teamEnsure that established quality procedures are adhered to during the project lifecycle, and all checklists are signed off prior to the shipment release of the eHousesDevelop Safety plan for the project and ensure the Safety and EHS processes are being followed by the ABB representatives, vendors & customers.

Take the lead in documenting, investigating, and resolving any safety related issues during the project executionDevelop a cooperative relationship approach with the vendors ensuring that the ABB Quality standards are metAttend customer job sites to address any quality claims submitted by the customer, and work with the project team and supplier to prepare action plans to address issues in a timely mannerTake pro-active measures based on lessons learned to prevent re-occurrence of potential issues that can affect smooth project executionIdentify opportunities for improvement in project execution or product design and communicate to the engineering and manufacturing teamsSupport the organization with maintaining ISO certification through strong adherence to established QMSPerform new supplier qualification audits and routine audits of existing suppliersYour backgroundBachelors of Science in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics or similar)At least 3 years of field experience in Electrical Distribution industryMinimum 3+ years additional experience in quality, manufacturing, supply chain, field servicesFluent in English.

Spanish Language is a PlusPrevious E-House including LV and MV equipment experienceProficient with MS Word, Excel, MS Project, other project management toolsExcellent oral and written communication skills:

ability to communicate professionally with people at all levels in the organization and external contactsMust be able to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and be flexible in working on multiple projects simultaneouslyHigh energy level - self-starter and self-drivenStrong organizational skills with high attention to detail and sense of urgency in dealing with tasksHas a Customer Centric behavior, is able to deal with complex Customers (internal and external) and meet specific requirements when needed.
