    Assistant Fire Chief

    Class Title: Assistant Fire Chief

    Class Code: 7425

    Salary: $141, $185,764.80 Annually

    Classification Description Summary:

    • Assist the Fire Chief in planning, directing, coordinating, and controlling Fire Department operations
    • Manage and participate in the development and implementation of goals, objectives, policies, and priorities for assigned programs
    • Monitor and evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of service delivery methods and procedures

    Essential Functions:

    • Assist in planning, directing, coordinating, and controlling Fire Department operations
    • Manage and participate in the development and implementation of goals
    • Monitor and evaluate the efficiency of service delivery methods

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Knowledge of municipal fire department operations
    • Ability to plan, supervise, and coordinate Fire Department personnel
    • Effectively present information and respond to questions from various groups

    Education and Experience Guidelines:

    • Education/Training: Bachelor's degree in fire science, public administration, or related field
    • Experience: Eight years of fire service experience, including two years of administrative and supervisory responsibility
    • License or Certificate: Valid driver's license
