Intern Data Analytics - Cyber Actuarial Services (M/F/d)

The CU1.3 department ("CU Cyber") in Kaukauna, WI brings together cyber insurance expertise to support business units in writing profitable cyber insurance and developing new areas of cyber business.

It also manages risk for this line of business.

Responsibilities include assessing potential risks, maintaining portfolio transparency, developing underwriting tools and standards, and driving projects for cyber innovation and investments.


To strengthen our cyber data analytics and underwriting support team, we are seeking an intern to contribute to the Cyber Data Project.

This initiative aims to build a proprietary cyber database using both internal and external data sources to support the strategic growth of our cyber (re)insurance business and potentially develop new business models beyond insurance.


Your role

  • Processing internal cyber exposure and claims data using our existing data pipeline
  • Collaborating closely with cyber underwriters and claims managers to discuss data issues and needs and ensure high quality of processed data
  • Supporting further enhancement and automation of our technical pipeline for data processing, including tasks in our SQL database and programming in R
  • Creating and improving Power BI dashboards

Profile:


  • Currently studying mathematics, statistics, data science, computer science, or a related field
  • Advanced programming skills (e.g. R, Python, Java, etc.)
  • Experience with relational databases (SQL) is a plus
  • Excellent command of English
