- The Chief will report directly to the Chair of the Department of Surgery and work in collaboration with the Chair on strategies, benchmarks, and metrics to drive excellent clinical outcomes, patient satisfaction, and advancements in benchmarks and/or clinical research.
- The Department of Surgery is comprised of ten Divisions consisting of over 60 specialized full-time faculty members, some of whom are national leaders in their fields. Stony Brook Surgical Associates offers inpatient and outpatient care in a wide breadth of surgical specialties serving Stony Brook and outreach sites across Long Island.
- The Division of Plastic Surgery has ample opportunity for research collaborations with established connections to Brookhaven National Laboratory, the Stony Brook Cancer Center, and excellent graduate and undergraduate programs, offering unlimited opportunities for collegial interaction.
- Stony Brook's plastic surgeons have been recognized for their excellence by selection for inclusion in the present and past editions of the Castle Connolly Guides, America's Top Doctors, representing the top 1% of physicians in the nation; and Top Doctors: New York Metro Area. - Qualified applicants will have an M.D./D.O. Degree, retain American Board Certification in Plastic Surgery, be eligible for a New York state medical licensure, and hold an academic rank of Associate Professor or Professor.
