Scrub Technician (Inpatient)
Location:
White Plains, NY
Experience:
- 20 Years
Must-Haves:1. Prior experience as Surgical Technologist preferred2. Certification by a nationally accredited surgical technologist credentialing organization.3. Performs nursing procedures per WPH policy.4. Maintains highest standard of sterile technique.5. Assists surgeon and RN with post-procedure care.
Education/qualification:* High School Diploma or GED required and must meet one of the following: - Graduate from a CAAHEP- or ABHES- accredited program and holds and maintains CST certification- Completed a military surgical technology program or& Is grandfathered-Is in the service of the federal government, to the extent the person is performing duties related to that service.
JD:
1.& & & Understands and adheres to the WPH Performance Standards, Policies and Behaviors2.& & & Essential functions and responsibilities as per New York Public Health Law 2824 – Surgical technology and surgical technologists,3.& & & Performs nursing procedures per WPH policy.4.& & & Checks supplies and equipment prior to surgical procedure.5.& & & Scrubs, sets up, counts and assists intra-operatively.6.& & & Maintains highest standard of sterile technique.7.& & & Assists surgeon and RN with post-procedure care.8.& & & Handles specimens appropriately.9.& & & Prepares instruments for decontamination.10.& Assists with preparing/picking OR cases.11.& Follows WPH policies and procedures for Infection Control and Fire Code.
