    Job DescriptionNursing SupportLabor Delivery 6EPer Diem|Night|2 weekend shifts per month 7p-0715aPosition Summary works independently as a scrub in OR cases. Attention to detail and safety. Collaborates with the OB team and maintains supplies in the OR setting.

    Essential Functions and Responsibilities Includes the Following:1.Understands and adheres to our Performance Standards, Policies and Behaviors2.Checks supplies equipment prior to surgical procedure3.Scrubs, sets up, counts and assists intra-operatively.4.Maintains highest standard of sterile technique.5.Prepares instruments for decontamination.6.Assists OB team with stocking and deliveries.7.Follows our policies and procedures for infection control and fire safety.8.Identifies and reports malfunctioning equipment appropriately.9.Follows patient safety standards.10.Completes competency requirements.11.Completes 15 hours of continuing education credits as required by NY State Law (effective Jan.

    1, Performs all other related duties as assignedEducation Experience RequirementsHigh School Diploma or GED and MUST meet one of the following:

    • ' Graduate from a Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health programs (CAAHEP) or Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) and holds and maintains a Certified Surgical technologist (CST) certification.' Completed a military surgical technology program' Is in the service of the federal government to the extent the person is performing duties related to service.' Prior experience is preferred' Certification by a nationally accredited surgical technologist credentialing organization preferred.
