- Assists as scrub tech during interventional vascular procedures.
- Functions as a scrub person during operative and other invasive procedures by assembling supplies and equipment and preparing and organizing sterile supplies and instruments for the procedure.
- Is knowledgeable of all equipment and supplies required for each case type and where they can be obtained.
- Demonstrates technical knowledge of procedures.
- Checks physician preference for equipment required prior to each procedure.
- Communicates information with RN to ensure smooth progress of case. Observes and reports, to a nurse, changes in the patient's condition.
- Preps access site as ordered by physician pre-procedure
- Monitoring of patients post-procedure (hemostasis, vital sign assessment, observe cardiac monitor for arrhythmias) in assistance with the nursing staff.
- Collects necessary equipment prior to scrubbing/approaching bed side.
- Actively works to improve performance by seeking and acting on feedback from others.
- Demonstrates knowledge of patient safety standards and follows all hospital policies and procedures pertaining to patient safety.
- Education: High School Diploma/GED
- Licensure/Certification: Registered Vascular Technologist certification
