    At Fireside Cafeteria, part of John Knox Village, we are passionate about providing exceptional dining experiences across our 400-acre residential property. We offer a variety of dining outlets, each with its own unique menu and style, ranging from the cozy Fireside cafeteria to the upscale Metropolitan restaurant. Our team prides itself on delivering high-quality scratch-made meals and outstanding service to our residents and guests.

    Job Title: Restaurant Associate



    JOB SUMMARY

    This part-time position involves a mix of duties in the restaurant, dining room, and kitchen areas. Responsibilities include setting up/cleaning dining areas, taking food orders, serving customers, and maintaining cleanliness standards. As a member of our team, you will play a vital role in ensuring exceptional dining experiences for all.



    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

    • Sets up and cleans dining areas
    • Relays orders to the kitchen and serves food
    • Handles food preparation and may assist with cash handling
    • Attends to residents' additional needs
    • Maintains workplace conduct standards
    • Adheres to safety regulations

    These responsibilities are crucial to our operations, and flexibility and teamwork are key to success in this role.



    ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

    Candidates must be at least 16 years old and possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent. Additionally, obtaining a Jackson County Food Handler Permit within 15 days of employment is required.



    Knowledge and Skills

    • Ability to work with diverse customer groups
    • Basic understanding of cash handling
    • Awareness of cost control principles
    • Flexibility to work varied hours
    • Basic math and communication skills
    • Capability to follow instructions accurately


    SPECIAL WORKING CONDITIONS

    • Work primarily in a kitchen and restaurant environment
    • Exposure to various environmental conditions
    • Interaction with individuals of diverse backgrounds
    • Potential involvement in emergency operations
    • Exposure to heat, cold, and sharp objects


    PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS

    This role requires physical stamina and mental focus to meet the demands of a dynamic dining environment. Candidates must be able to lift, carry, and perform various physical tasks throughout the shift. Accommodations can be provided for individuals with disabilities.



    SUPERVISION RECEIVED/GIVEN

    Direct supervision from departmental management. Does not supervise others.
