    What is your role?

    As the World and Narrative Manager for Eleventh Hour Games you will be key in defining and executing the game's narrative strategy. Working closely with the Creative Director, you will lead a group of passionate writers and narrative designers, and be a leading voice of all narrative-related matters within the game. The responsibilities of a World and Narrative Manager often go beyond this into content design, quest design, voice-over direction and game writing. The individual who fills this role will be a leading force that connects the player experience to the story.
    The ideal candidate thrives by communicating openly in an indie environment and is both self motivated and motivating to others. A strong understanding of development cycles and workflow is crucial to guiding and mentoring team members in the right direction of workflow and communication. The ideal candidate is agile in their approach, understands the need to pivot and make quick yet efficient decisions, and be willing and capable of mitigating and investigating team concerns and prioritization. This role is heavily leadership based in nature.

    Qualifications

    • 5+ years of industry experience in a leadership role, 3+ years experience in Video Game Narration focused role(s)
    • 5+ Years in a people management role with passion for leadership/mentoring
    • Demonstratable experience in your field and team management through the full-cycle of game development, from conception to shipping
    • Experience delivering products while managing a remote team
    • Experience with team member feedback and evaluation processes
    • Demonstratable working experience with the tools and programs: Clickup (or similar software), Unity

    Responsibilities

    • Help review the team's development and guide them through the development process
    • Creating and facilitating project schedules, creating and implementing a plan for project resources, workflow and milestones
    • Identify project and team risks through regular monitoring of production status, team morale and communication channels. Utilize this information to execute early intervention and preventative measures
    • Document, communicate, administer, and refine project processes. Identify opportunities for improvement, and work with your team to find creative solutions, and execute solutions with them and their teams
    • Oversee the narrative context for the game, being responsible for all set pieces through storylines, screen-tests. Ensuring the quality of the script, scene breakdowns, and final edits of the scenes and cinematics; Remember we want our players to feel immersed
    • Coordinating with the Creative Director to define the story for upcoming releases
    • Coordinating with the Cinematics team, reviewing cutscenes to ensure they are on par with the vision
    • Work closely with the Art Teams to make sure the game design lines up with the narrative experience, and with the Art Director on the characters and world.
    • Leading casting and voice recording sessions
    • Ensuring the overall coherence of the storyline/scripted events throughout the game, while providing guidelines in regard to the development of specific narrative/scripted event features and assets
