    Description


    The Accounting Manager plays a key role in ensuring CarePoint Health's monthly financial statements are accurate and the month-end financial close is completed on time.

    The Accounting Manager engages with all members of the accounting team and provides mentorship, training, and support to the accounting team and helps to drive success in a highly collaborative team environment.

    Position Requirements


    Education:
    Bachelor's degree in accounting required.

    Experience:


    Minimum of seven years of experience in an accounting related field, with at least five years as a staff accountant.

    Supervision experience preferred.
    Microsoft NAV 365, NetSuite, or SAP experience is preferred.

    Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
    High degree of critical thinking, motivation, adaptability, and flexibility.
    Expected to maintain an extremely high degree of accuracy.
    Self-starter and ability to work independently while handling multiple tasks.
    Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
    Strong verbal and written communication skills.
    Manages all responsibilities within a multi-organizational reporting structure.
    Job Responsibilities

    Reviews partner distributions, buy-outs and other critical calculations for accuracy and appropriateness.
    Manages accounts payable process including the review, approval, and release of vendor payments.

    Oversees the monthly independent contractor payment process including the release of ACH batch payments and related recording of entries into accounting system.

    Manages payroll accounting process including the review and approval of bi-weekly payroll accounting journal entries.

    Oversees general ledger accounting including recurring journal entries, expense allocations between divisions and facilities, depreciation, and other adjusting journal entries as needed.

    Assists the Controller with managing the month-end closing process.
    Trains users and develops user guides for payment system (Ramp).
    Manages and trues up the monthly intercompany balances and processes subsequent bank transfers.
    Assists Controller with the preparation of documentation support for audits, tax returns, and payroll tax matters.
    Prepares and submits quarterly sales tax filings; annual 1099 filings, and annual personal property tax filings.

    Makes recommendations for new and efficient accounting processes and continuously find ways to reduce redundancies, correcting journal entries; educates and instils best practices within accounting operations.

    Creates and models a culture of consistency in accounting operations across the enterprise.
    Collaborates with team members to implement positive changes in support of the department vision.
    Prepares special financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information.
    Assists with external audits, including the 401k and Cash Balance Plan.
    Assists the tax firm with the yearly corporate tax return.
    Provides accounting assistance with reconciliations, payroll, audits, year-end and month-end close, etc.
    Understands the general ledger, reporting structure, business models and accounting ERP.
