    The expected salary range for this role is based on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This role is eligible for the Fanatics Betting and Gaming annual bonus program and an equity award. *Salary range is listed in USD; ranges will change based on country and state of residence, which are reflected in Geographical Zones defined by Fanatics Betting and Gaming.
    *Salary Range: $109,000 to $230,000 (Salary range incorporates all of our Geographical Compensation Zones and is subject to change as the Zone associated with the actual Offer is confirmed).

    Overview
    As a Senior Kafka Engineer at Fanatics Betting & Gaming (FBG), you are here to be part of the growing IT Infrastructure department. The engineer will be responsible for the availability, performance, capacity, and maintenance of our steaming data platform. Data is at the heart of our business and this role will enable our Compliance, Data Science, and Product Engineering teams to deliver and operate a world-class SportsBook and iCasino. The Engineer will be an expert technologist with experience in streaming technologies and he/she will be responsible for designing robust , fault tolerant and flexible data streaming platform. This team member will design and programmatically manage data streaming in AWS MSK.

    Responsibilities

    • Responsible for building and maintaining our data streaming platform primarily on Kafka.
    • Build tools to monitor performance, capacity, cost, and availability of our data streaming platform.
    • Implement AWS methodologies to tune Producer, Consumer and brokers nodes.
    • Create partnerships with our Data Science, Compliance, and Product Engineering teams to enable their roadmaps and solve technical challenges.
    • Maintain data streaming speed and reliability in highly available cloud infrastructure.
    • Analyze and troubleshooting data inconsistency during streaming.
    • Implement automation for streaming Infrastructure deployment.

    Qualifications

    • 4+ years of relevant technology experience.
    • Experience working in a high-growth tech start-up.
    • Hands on experience in AWS MSK/Confluent Kafka/Apache Kafka.
    • Experience in implementing near real-time data streaming using Kafka framework.
    • Must be well-versed with publish-subscribe messaging systems.
    • Experience in implementing large-scale pub-sub message queues using Kafka.
    • Experienced in deploying Kafka infrastructure using Terraform/Cloud formation.
    • Experienced in administering Zookeeper and broker nodes.
    • Must be well versed to tune producer and consumer and replay messages in Kafka.
    • Knowledge of SQL and KSQL is a plus.
    • Knowledge of relational databases (PostgresQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Cassandra) is a plus.
    • Willing to learn database skills and be part of on call rotation.
    • Knowledge of Python is a huge plus.
