Summary About the Position:
This position is a DOD Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system position in the Excepted Service under 10 USC 1599f.
Employees occupying CES positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction This position is located at Fort Richardson, Alaska. This position is TERM - 2 years and can be extended. Responsibilities Works closely with the battalion Safety Officer to ensure compliance with the unit Hazardous Communication Program (HAZCOM). Manages battalion HAZMAT/HAZWASTE program.Responsible for ensuring organizational compliance with all federal, state, and local regulatory requirements regarding the handling, storing, tracking, reporting, cleanup, and disposal of hazardous waste and hazardous materials.
Serves as a directorate representative on the US Army Alaska Hazardous Substance Management System working group.Assists the battalion maintenance Non-Commissioned Officer (NCO) with ensuring that the unit and all subordinate units follow Army Regulations and higher headquarters policies and regulations.
Provides oversight of the Global Combat Supply System-Army (GCSS-A) operations. Reviews/analyzes readiness reports/problems, determines root causes of problems and/or trends and recommends corrective actions to the S4. Assists the S4 and Non-Commissioned Officer-InCoordinates with the installation Facility Management agencies to gather estimates for work orders, and coordinates funding requirements with the unit Resource Manager.

Specialized Experience:

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GG-09).
