    The position of Innovation and Technology Engineer is pivotal within the core process development team. The role involves investigating, identifying, and managing cutting-edge technological engineering projects in collaboration with global process development initiatives. The successful candidate will act as a local expert, ensuring the swift implementation of technology advancements to address the specific requirements of business divisions and sites. Additionally, this individual will stay abreast of emerging technologies, equipment, and materials in the market, facilitating their integration into operations to support a world-class manufacturing environment.

    The responsibilities include providing independent engineering evaluations, guidance, and oversight to execute approved projects in collaboration with the global process development team and local departments. This encompasses various tasks such as modeling, design, scale-up, and optimization of processes and equipment, as well as technology development and cost estimates.

    • Independently identifying, evaluating, and suggesting advanced technological solutions for organizational enhancements.
    • Conducting market research to explore potential technologies for proof-of-concept assessments.
    • Establishing and nurturing network contacts with technological suppliers or partners for future collaborations.

    Consideration can be given to Visa referrals for candidates requiring relocation, provided they have a substantial remaining visa period and are based in the USA or Canada.

    Requirements:

    • B.S. in chemical engineering or related field; M.S. or Ph.D. in a technical engineering discipline preferred
    • Preferred experience of 8-15+ years, with emphasis on education and relevant background
    • Willingness to travel, including up to 40%, with potential international trips to Germany
    • Proficiency in German language is advantageous but not mandatory for bilingual candidates
    • Ability to facilitate initial onboarding/training in Germany for 1-3 months
    • Demonstrated expertise in technical engineering, with the ability to lead projects to successful outcomes
    • Experience in engineering projects, automation testing, and prototype development
    • Strong collaboration and communication skills for interaction within a global organization
    • Curiosity and innovation in researching new topics to support ongoing projects
    • Knowledge of hyper-pure polysilicon production or semiconductor manufacturing is a strong advantage
    • Skills in modeling and simulation of chemical processes and equipment
    • Familiarity with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards
    • Experience working across various engineering disciplines
