    As an Innovation and Technology Engineer, you will play a crucial role within the core process development team. Your primary responsibilities will involve investigating, identifying, initiating, and overseeing next-generation technological engineering projects in collaboration with global process development initiatives. In this capacity, you will serve as a local expert and resource, ensuring a swift transfer of technology developments to cater to the specific requirements of various business divisions and sites. Moreover, you will be tasked with scouting out advanced capabilities or trends in the market or through potential collaborations to support a top-tier manufacturing operation.

    You will independently carry out engineering and technological assessments, provide guidance, and supervise the execution of approved projects alongside the global process development team and local departments. This will encompass activities such as modeling, designing, scaling up, and optimizing processes and equipment; overseeing tests and pilot plants; evaluating new processes; managing innovation projects; and conducting technology studies and cost estimates.

    • Identifying, evaluating, and suggesting advanced technological solutions for organizational improvement.
    • Researching and exploring the market for potential technologies, equipment, and materials to lead proof-of-concept evaluations.
    • Cultivating a network of potential technological suppliers or collaboration partners for future prospects.

    For those requiring visa sponsorship, the company is open to referrals provided the candidate has a substantial remaining visa period and resides in the USA or Canada.

    Requirements:

    • Bachelors' degree in chemical engineering or a related field; a Masters' or Ph.D. in a relevant technical discipline is preferred.
    • Preferably 8-15+ years of relevant experience, with recognition given to educational background and pertinent practical exposure.
    • Willingness to travel when necessary, potentially up to 40%, including international trips to Germany.
    • German language proficiency (spoken and written) is advantageous, but bilingualism is not mandatory.
    • Capability to complete initial onboarding in Germany lasting 1-3 months.
    • Proven expertise in technical engineering, including leading investigation and innovation projects efficiently.
    • Experience in engineering projects such as developing new equipment, automation testing, and proof-of-concept development for production.
    • Essential collaboration and communication competencies to work effectively within a global and local matrix organization and with external partners.
    • Inquisitive and innovative nature willing to research and acquire knowledge beyond current expertise for ongoing or potential projects.
    • Knowledge or background in hyper-pure polysilicon production, semiconductor manufacturing, or similar industries with high product quality standards is highly favored.
    • Demonstrated skills in modeling and simulating (bio-)chemical processes and equipment, and familiarity with relevant laws, regulations, standards, and codes.
    • Experience collaborating across various technical engineering fields is highly valued.
