Job Summary:
The Accounts Payable Specialist will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and accurate processing of invoices and payments for Alvarez Construction.
This position requires a strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to effectively work independently and as a part of a team.
Job Functions include:
Process vendor invoices accurately and efficiently, ensuring proper coding and authorization.
Review purchase orders, contracts, and other documentation to verify billing and resolve discrepancies as needed.
Reconcile vendor statements and follow up on any outstanding balances or discrepancies.
Prepare and process weekly check runs and ACH Payments in accordance with the payment terms and company policies.
Maintain vendor records and ensure that all necessary documentation is accurately filed and up to date.
Respond to vendor inquiries and resolve payment issues in a timely and professional manner.
Collaborate with procurement and project management teams to ensure timely and accurate recording of project-related expenses.
Assist with ad-hoc projects and initiatives as needed.
Qualifications:
3+ years of accounts payable or relevant accounting role, preferably in the construction or real estate industries
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software. Knowledge of NewStar software is a plus.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer service-oriented approach.
General knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
Education:
High School diploma or GED required
Associates or bachelors preferred
