    Job DescriptionDescription:Automatic Optical Inspector (AOI) Operator

    Scope:

    The objective of the AOI Inspector is to determine the acceptability of imaged panels, inner layers, and photo tools. The AOI Inspector is responsible for performing Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) according to the work instructions and to perform other related tasks as directed by the AOI/ET Supervisor.

    The inspector is responsible for learning the start up, operation, shut down, and routine maintenance of the AOI area equipment. All operators/inspectors have the responsibility and authority to shut down a process that is producing nonconforming product, and then to immediately notify their supervisor.

    Essential Job Function:

    • Handling and Preparation—verify board count, clean panels/film and AOI tables
    • Inspection Process—inspect panels/film requiring AOI for: part number and layer name, repetitive defects, material type and thickness, line width and air gap, image quality, registration, resist strip
    • Paperwork—read/fill out Process Traveler, AOI logs, report accepted/rejected boards/film

    Process Equipment and Tools Include:

    • AOI machine (and markers)
    • Exacto knife
    • 10x eye loupe
    • sticky pad/roller
    • 60x tower scope
    • back light table
    • micrometer inspection stamps
    • Arrow stickers
    Requirements:

    Essential Qualifications, Education and Experience:

    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • Strong work ethic
    • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
    • Proficient verbal and written communication skills
    • Prolonged periods standing and operating equipment
    • Fine motor skills
    • Ability to use microscopes for long periods of time
    • Ability to carry 30+ lbs or more
