Job DescriptionDescriptionThe Process Engineer coordinates activities supporting all phases of manufacturing process improvement (yield, cycle time, etc.) and equipment installation qualification. This role provides guidance pertaining to manufacturing process documentation (process or product changes, work instruction, etc.) respective of his/her assigned process disciplines and receives transfer of new process development by ensuring the appropriate transfer criteria is met or implemented. Supports manufacturing employees in training activities as needed. Participates in various meetings or interfaces for the purpose of providing input respective to product or process goals.
Key Responsibilities · Process Improvement
o Provide "hands on" support to all engineering or manufacturing staff to achieve process goals for capability and customer demand.
o Create and implement "pre-flight and first article" requirements for all process operation steps. Provide training as required.
o Implement SPC for all applicable process steps.
o Monitor overall process and critical product yields to ensure they meet target expectations in conjunction with quality assurance. Provide monthly summary of yields and improvement plans for those falling below target.
o Monitor overall process and product cycle time to ensure they meet target expectations respective of the defined process. Issues pertaining to scheduling or low utilization can be excluded from engineering responsibility.
o Provide support to engineering services team for clarification of expectations in processing new / revised customer products.
o Working with maintenance and manufacturing team; design and implement tools applicable to each respective process for manufacturing purposes.
o Implement new processes, procedures and practices, as needed.
· Equipment Qualification
o Review new process specifications for compliance to internal equipment procedures.
o Work with manufacturing and maintenance to troubleshoot and identify equipment related technical questions or concerns.
o Support qualification of new equipment including but not limited to; maintenance schedules, proper use and associated procedures, etc.
o Oversee equipment operation and performance in relationship to processes. Confer with maintenance on any issues, improvements or corrections required.
· Other Duties
o Support the ISO implementation by writing or reviewing specifications.
o Prepare internal and external reports to document noncompliance.
o Participate in non-quality related customer or sales engineer visits.
o Participate in RFQ when requested or required.
o Participate in the development of capital budget recommendations.
