- Supports Executive Team with providing guidance on employment laws, human resources practices, and related workforce issues that could impact business continuity or operations.
- Administration of Company policies and procedures.
- Maintains hiring, discipline, and termination practices in compliance with all applicable state and federal regulations, including but not limited to EEOC and OFCCP compliance.
- Creates compliant annual Affirmative Action Plan, EEO-1 Reports and related Federal or State reports.
- Develops and maintains recruiting, succession, and development plans for the company.
- Presents company-required HR-related training, as needed, and/or ensures training compliance.
- Manages any relevant HR-related audits, complaints, or claims.
- Responsible for ongoing compliance of maintaining employee files and associated records in accordance with all state and federal requirements.
- Assists the HR Coordinator with processing weekly payroll, works closely with Payroll Team and Controller on payroll-related tasks. This includes but is not limited to: Developing and overseeing weekly payroll submission and entering year-end data in the payroll system, such as new group benefits, bonuses, salary increases, PTO balances; Etc.
- Handles all FMLA/LOA requests and assists with all workers compensation claims.
- Assists operations department with manpower reporting as needed.
- Responsible for mediating employee conflicts and processing terminations in compliance with any relevant state and federal guidelines.
- Manages all company Benefits (Medical/Dental/Life/HSA) enrollments, changes, and billing as required in accordance with any applicable corporate deadlines and regulations.
- Responsible for overseeing the HR Department, which includes Recruiter and HR Coordinator.
- Oversees the Orientation and Onboarding of all employees; ensures all compliance training and required company documents completed.
- Completes and maintains records such as I-9's, Social Security Verification, NC New Hire reporting, and background checks.
- Bachelor's degree in human resources or a related field is required.
- 5+ years of progressive experience in human resources required. Experience must include direct employee relations, benefits administration, and HR/HR compliance responsibilities.
- Experience in providing proactive insights and guidance to the senior leadership team.
- Demonstrated experience in maintaining confidentiality in all sensitive matters (i.e., employee relations, compensation, FMLA, etc.)
- Human resource experience in the manufacturing/construction industry preferred.
- Must have intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
- Supervisory experience is preferred.
