    Description
    Position Summary


    The Senior Accountant oversees general accounting operations by controlling and verifying the financials transactions, assists with financial and tax audits, documents and monitors internal controls in support of audit, responsible for accurate and timely auditing and reporting.

    Job Duties

    Assist with all aspects of financial accounting, including preparation of monthly financial statement reports
    Prepare recurring month-end journal entries and assist with month-end closings
    Enter payments into the accounting software
    Complete bank reconciliations in a timely manner
    Enter daily deposits into the accounting system
    Review daily bank transactions
    Track daily EFT transactions and local office deposits; reconcile data with reports
    Assist in resolving deposit discrepancies
    Assist with accurate cash management and reporting
    Prepare billings and collect payments
    Provide analysis of financial and data results on various accounts monthly
    Assist with preparation of audit work papers for external audits
    Provide financial reports and analysis as requested by leadership
    Assist Controller with the creation of requested reports
    Complete projects as assigned
    Backup for other positions
    Responsible for coding and recording of deposits
    Resolve and submit refunds requests
    Bank and GL accounts reconciliation

    Required Skills/Abilities

    Thorough knowledge of financial accounting and general accounting practices (GAAP)
    Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    Highly detail-oriented and organized
    Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines, etc.
    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
    Advanced MS Excel skills including Vlookups and pivot tables
    Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively with different levels of employees

    Education And Experience

    Bachelor's degree or higher with major in accounting required
    Five (5) years of accounting experience is required; accounting management experience preferred
    Accounting experience in a non-profit environment preferred
    Experience with grant funding preferred
    Demonstrated competence in general ledger, accounts payable and accounts receivable
    Valid driver's license, proof of insurance, and ability to drive for organization business
