    Description


    Apple crafts consumer electronics that have touched millions and changed the way people agree with electronic devices around the world.

    The Product Calibration & Test Group plays a key role in keeping up the standards, and through work with the team, you'll have the outstanding opportunity to impact products all across Apple, because here, new insights have a way of becoming phenomenal products, services, and customer experiences very quickly.

    We are looking for an engineer who design, develop and deploy calibration and test instrumentation systems for Apple's world class products.

    This engineer will with cross-functional groups (Design, ME, EE, SW, Ops etc) throughout the New Product Introduction (NPI) phase to ensure the success of current and future Apple products.

    Key Qualifications
    3+ years professional experience in design, development, debug, validation and working with electro-mechanical systems
    Proven understanding of consumer electronics modules like - transducers (sensors - light/force/pressure/touch/motion, acoustics - speaker/mic) or input/output ports (USBC) or optical systems (camera, Lidar) or Displays
    Understanding of hardware concepts. (i.e. HW architecture, block diagrams and schematic design, debug interfaces, etc.), EE fundamentals
    Programming skills in one or more of the following: C/C++/Objective-C and scripting knowledge (Python, Lua)
    Knowledge of digital signal processing (DSP) and control systems
    Experience analyzing and processing large data sets
    Description


    You will be responsible for the design specification, bring up, validation and deployment of automated instrumentation to calibrate and test Apple's products through NPI and mass production.

    Responsibilities will be tuned to match the candidate's technical background, but you may be encouraged to:

    Architect hardware for instrument systems and maintain those systems through productionWork with our mechanical engineering team to specify and validate the required mechanical fixtures & automation systemsDevelop, debug, and optimize automation softwareAnalyze large amounts of data generated from your instrument systems and embrace data-driven approaches to solving engineering challengesPerform failure mode root cause analysis and resolution, debugging from the system level down to the component levelWork closely with Apple EE, product design, firmware, operations, and logistics teams.

    Frequent interactions with CM/vendors and developing SOPs, debug instructions, documentation is part of R&R
    Education & Experience
    BS, MS or equivalent experience in Engineering or related field.
