    Job Description

    Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, the Senior Accountant will oversee various financial activities, including state and federal grant reporting, payroll administration, and accounts payable and receivable support. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to our vital work under limited supervision.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Independently manage day-to-day finance and accounting functions, including payroll administration, month-end closing entries, and annual audit support.
    • Collaborate with program staff to track and invoice monthly contract deliverables, ensuring compliance with contract stipulations.
    • Conduct general accounting tasks in QuickBooks, such as payment preparation and bank deposits, to maintain accurate financial records.
    • Provide regular budget updates and reports, tracking program expenditures and allocations.
    • Coordinate grant distribution to clients and maintain thorough documentation.
    • Complete bank reconciliations, credit card allocations, and other accounting tasks as assigned.

    Qualifications:

    • Experience working with nonprofits and/or religious institutions preferred.
    • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail.
    • Proficiency in QuickBooks and/or other accounting software.
    • Ability to manage multiple large contracts simultaneously.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
    • Business or accounting degree and/or equivalent experience required.
    • Minimum of three years' experience in nonprofit accounting.
