- Utilize MQTT, RS485, RS232, Modbus TCP, MT Connect, and Ethernet IP OPC to establish robust connections between machines for seamless data collection.
- Diagnose and resolve issues related to data collection.
- Program and distribute Network Address Translation (NAT) routers to enhance network security and manage communication between internal and external devices.
- Maintain the IP assignments of all connected equipment/devices, ensuring proper configuration and addressing to facilitate smooth communication.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including software developers, electrical engineers, and maintenance personnel, to achieve integrated and efficient data collection solutions.
- Take the lead on scheduling the installation of hardware components, coordinating with relevant teams and ensuring timely and efficient deployment.
- Update programming on PLCs to support enhanced data collection capabilities and determine tag addressing for relevant information within the PLC programming.
- Develop and maintain Ignition/Sepasoft software applications.
- Collaborate with project teams for effective solution designs.
- Implement and test software solutions, ensuring a high level of performance and reliability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve software issues.
- Develop custom MSSQL queries.
- Contribute to the creation and adhere to the standardization of user interfaces.

Come join our data-driven journey at Fort Wayne Metals as we continue to develop and deploy I4.0 initiatives. Fort Wayne Metals specializes in providing wires, cables, composites, and assemblies used in life-improving medical devices. It's quite possible that either you, a loved one, or a friend has benefited from a medical device containing our products, making our work that much more fulfilling and meaningful. In our Advanced Manufacturing Department, we are actively building custom web-based interfaces and collecting data from hundreds of equipment. Our platform is built on the Ignition SCADA platform that takes advantage of the Python programming library. Data is stored in a MSSQL database. Production metrics are provided through the SepaSoft MES platform. Our group has experience in successfully networking hundreds of PLCs from many different platforms and pulling data from devices via Ethernet/IP, MTConnect, OPC/UA, MQTT, Modbus/TCP, RS-485, and RS-232 protocol through our KepServerEX OPC platform.
