    Description

    Apex's financial client is hiring an experienced, PMP-certified Project Manager that will support mostly app dev/systems project in Agile and Waterfall environments.

    Location: 3 days on-site in Raleigh, NC

    Duration: 12+ months, potential conversion to FTE

    Terms: W2-contract, 40 hrs/wk, health benefits & 401k optional

    Pay: $60/hr on W2

    Description:

    The primary responsibility of the position is to lead large, complex programs composed of multiple projects. Provides execution and delivers quality oversight for all projects within their defined scope to ensure that delivered scope, time, and budget effectively meet business objectives. Provides facilitation and coordination of multi-functional teams (e.g., IT, business, strategic partner, etc.) utilizing both internal and external resources. Leverages experience with large, complex programs and projects to enhance the delivery capabilities of IT Project Managers. Develops and deploys all project management standards and tool kits and ensures detailed projects reviews are executed in accordance with the process of record.

    Experience Requirements

    Minimum of 10 years in managing IT projects.

    Predominantly in a Functional Project Manager role; technical expertise not required.

    Proficiency in relating to various team levels, including testers.

    Methodological Skills

    Experienced with both Waterfall and Agile methodologies.

    Certification:

    PMP Certification is required.

    Candidates currently in the process of obtaining PMP certification may be considered.

    Project Experience

    Strong preference for candidates with experience in managing financial projects.

    Key areas of interest include:

    Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A)

    Loan Origination Delivery

    Establishment of new business entities

    Leadership and Communication:

    Significant experience in working with multiple stakeholders.

    Capable of delivering effective written and oral presentations to stakeholders.

    Comfortable in leadership roles and may need to present to senior leadership teams.

    Project Management Scope

    Responsible for managing multiple projects simultaneously, typically 3-4 ranging from medium to large scale.

    Team Management:

    Will oversee a team of 7 full-time employees, with 5 managing strategic projects.

    Given the team size, will focus on managing one strategic project at a time.

    Interview Process:

    Consists of two rounds: an initial phone interview followed by a virtual interview.

    Software Proficiency:

    Experience with Jira and SharePoint is necessary.
