The CalSTRS Technology Services Division is seeking a motivated individual to work as an Information Technology Specialist II on the Enterprise IT Solution & Innovation Team.

  • The Technology Services Branch is committed to providing quality and timely technical support and services to the organization. Technology Services provides resources to successfully meet the technical demands of the organization.
  • The Enterprise IT Solutions and Innovation Division provides solutions development and related support services aimed at delivering and optimizing the CalSTRS enterprisewide, technologybased solutions to the business. This division works in collaboration with the Project Management, Infrastructure and Operations, Enterprise IT Governance and CalSTRS business areas in the delivery of quality solutions that meet or exceed the business needs of CalSTRS. This division manages and provides oversight to Solution Services, START Solutions Development and Web Solutions Development Units.
  • Under the general direction of Enterprise IT Solutions and Innovation Director, and the administrative direction of the Business Analysis & Prototyping Supervisor, the Information Technology Specialist ll operates as the Senior Business Analyst and is responsible to independently perform highly complicated business process analysis, conducts JAD sessions with large groups of stakeholders, and creates complex business work flows, functional specifications, and project initiation artifacts. The incumbent tasks assigned require an indepth and broader understanding of problem identification, analysis, and resolution. The incumbent will be responsible to effectively build business centric prototypes and create humancentered designs and provide business analysis guidance and trainings to other team members.
Experience with System Development Life cycle (SDLC) tools

  • Experience with waterfall, agile and/or hybrid agile methodologies
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with all levels of staff and management.
  • Ability to Analyze problems, develop alternatives, and recommend appropriate course of action
  • Demonstrated experience working in a Lead capacity in the Information Technology field
  • The ability to work effectively with staff, business users, management, vendors, and all other stakeholders.
  • IBAcertified business analysist professional or PMI professional in business analysis are highly desired.
  • Every 12 months, based on performance evaluation, employees may receive a 5% salary increase until they reach the maximum salary for the position.

Telework Information:We offer a hybrid approach including in-office and remote work solutions with staff working on-site at our Headquarters in West Sacramento 2-3 days per week.
