    Job Profile Summary
    The Corporate Gifts Officer reports to the Associate Vice President, Development to secure Corporate gifts of $10,000 and higher and leadership gifts of $100,000 and higher from a portfolio of corporate prospects and through identifying new qualified corporate prospects. Responsible for developing and managing strategies, soliciting prospects, and ensuring appropriate follow-up and stewardship. Supports the Vice President for Advancement in working with donors of $1 million and above. This position works collaboratively with colleagues on the development team, with academic deans, faculty, and other primary and natural partners to cultivate purposeful relationships with donors and implement effective solicitation strategies. This position will require a high level of interaction with donor constituencies. Performs related work duties as assigned.

    Minimum Education:
    • Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree preferred.
    Minimum Experience/Training:
    • Six years of relevant fundraising, sales and/or non-profit experience.
    Essential Functions:
    • Daily -50%: Identifies, qualifies, cultivates, and solicits a pool of corporate prospects approved by the vice president for whom s/he serves as prospect manager. Develops strategies using the Advancement Office's prospect management approach. Collaborates closely with other members of the development team as well as primary, natural, and College partners to develop and implement strategies that are consistent with College priorities and donors' interests. Serves as liaison between prospects and College (faculty/administrator/staff, retirees, alumni, and organizations). Prioritizes and manages activities for each funding opportunity, including development of funding proposals.
    • Daily -25%: As prospect manager, ensures that all pertinent information for his/her prospects is up-to-date and accurate in the Advancement Office database (RE NXT) and ensures that all prospect strategy partners are appropriately informed in a timely manner. Work closely with communications manager, stewardship manager and senior accountant to ensure consistent, meaningful communication to all scholarship donors. Works with communications manager to maintain consistent marketing, stewardship, website and integration in donor/prospect strategies.
    • Daily -10%: Oversees and administers Uplift Corporate Partners recognition program.
    • Daily -5%: Facilitates meetings with Student Financial Services, Broward College Foundation Senior Accountant, Stewardship Manager to review dollars allocated from Foundation to College, scholarships awarded, thank you letters collected with the purpose of good stewardship as well as resolving issues that include difficult criteria, internal impediments to scholar selection, etc.
    • Daily -5%: Serves to advance the Broward College strategic plan as well as new presidential initiatives.
    • Daily -5%: Performs related duties as assigned.
    Knowwledge, Skills and Abilities:
    • Knowledge of fundraising principles and Corporate gift solicitation.
    • General understanding of the external environment and how it affects academia in general and Broward in particular, including political, legal, environmental, educational, financial and social influences
    • Ability to stay current with IRS changes and changes with State of Florida regulations in relation to fundraising.
    • Ability to maintain professional relationships to be current on industry changes and best practices.
    • Knowledge of development standards and practices in higher education institutions preferred.
    • Ability to facilitate strategic planning with administration and faculty in regard to advancing programs with a development component.
    • In-depth functional knowledge and expertise in area of specialization and general knowledge of related areas in the College.
    • Ability to perform complex administrative analysis with only general supervision.
    • Strong diagnostic, analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent coordination and communication skills used appropriately to influence the decision-making of individuals and groups at all levels in the College.
    • Ability to plan and manage own workflow, priorities, and results accomplishment.
    • Requires the ability to present and disseminate data to various levels.
    • Requires advanced knowledge of computerized systems and operating environments i.e., Microsoft Office products and specialized computer systems (Raiser's Edge preferred).
    • Ability to interact and effectively communicate with a diverse employee and student population
