    Join Our Team at Summit Veterinary Referral Center

    Position Available: Licensed Veterinary Technician - Neurology

    Job Summary: Summit Veterinary Referral Center is seeking a Licensed Veterinary Technician specializing in Neurology to join our esteemed team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to providing superior care to our patients and contribute to the overall success of our neurology department. As a Licensed Veterinary Technician-Neurology, you will play a pivotal role in performing anesthesia monitoring, assisting with advanced procedures such as MRI/CT scans, administering medications, managing patient records, and providing education to pet owners.

    Responsibilities:

    • Provide compassionate and empathetic care to our patients.
    • Monitor anesthesia during surgical procedures.
    • Assist with MRI/CT scans and provide support during procedures.
    • Administer medications as directed by veterinarians.
    • Perform technical procedures including venipuncture, IV fluid administration, and catheter placement.
    • Maintain accurate patient records.
    • Educate pet owners on post-operative and at-home care.
    • Collaborate with other departments for overall practice success.

    Assisting with Advanced Procedures:

    • Cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) sampling
    • Brainstem auditory response testing
    • Nerve/muscle conduction testing
    • Spinal cord compression relief
    • Brain or skull-base tumor removal
    • Vertebrae stabilization

    Qualifications:

    • Valid license as a Veterinary Technician in WA state.
    • 2+ years of experience in a veterinary clinic or animal hospital.
    • Strong understanding of veterinary surgical procedures and protocols.
    • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
    • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
    • Proficiency in veterinary medical equipment and computer systems.
