    Join Our Team at Summit Veterinary Referral Center

    Position Available: Veterinary Pharmacy Technician

    Job Summary: Are you passionate about providing exceptional care to our furry friends? Summit Veterinary Referral Center is seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Technician to join our team. As a vital member of our pharmacy department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accurate and efficient preparation and distribution of medications to our patients. Attention to detail and adherence to legal and safety guidelines are key components of this role.

    Responsibilities:

    • Enter inpatient orders/prescriptions into the computer system and prepare medication labels for verification.
    • Conduct inspections of medications to identify and remove any outdated items.
    • Package drugs into unit dose packaging and maintain accurate packaging records.
    • Prepare medications for Cubex stations and ensure timely distribution to patient care areas.
    • Handle controlled substances inventory, including conducting physical inventories and reconciling counts.
    • Enter patient charges and credits into the computer system.
    • Check in orders, process invoices, credits, and restock shelves as needed.
    • Maintain cleanliness and organization of assigned work areas and equipment.

    Qualifications:

    • Active WA state LVT License required.
    • Previous experience in veterinary medicine is necessary.
    • Knowledge of medication names, dosages, and pharmaceutical calculations.
    • Proficient computer skills, including experience with prescription order entry systems.
    • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in medication handling and record-keeping.
    • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team.
    • Familiarity with legal guidelines and safety regulations in pharmacy practices and controlled substances.
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion when handling sensitive patient information.

    Benefits:

    • Hourly pay range: $ $35.00 depending on experience.
    • Shift differentials for evening and weekend hours worked.
