- Serve as a technical specialist and consultant to the transportation engineering discipline on transportation-related projects.
- Designs roadway geometric horizontal and vertical alignments.
- Designs road striping.
- Prepares construction items quantity estimates and basic opinion of cost analysis.
- Contribute to the preparation of traffic engineering studies and reports.
- Project design engineer on local municipality transportation projects.
- Assist the Project Manager in the preparation of reports and project design elements including plans, specifications, and estimates.
- Produce detailed, high-quality final design plans, specifications, and estimates in accordance with applicable procedures and standards.
- Utilizes CAD software in development of two- and three-dimensional models of roadway design.
- Licensed Professional Engineer in California, or ability to obtain within 6 months.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience.
- Understanding of all phases of project document production and the relationship between drawings and specifications.
- Working knowledge of civil systems means and methods, materials, and industry standards.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant design software (AutoCAD Civil3D, locally accepted hydrology and hydraulic programs, etc.)
- Possess a valid driver's license with a good driving record.

Stantec is looking for a Project Engineer to join our California Central Coast team. We have local offices located in Santa Maria, Santa Barbara, Thousand Oaks, Bakersfield, and Fresno. Benefits Summary: Regular full-time and part-time employees have access to medical, dental, and vision plans, a wellness program, health saving accounts, flexible spending accounts, 401(k) plan, employee stock purchase program, life and accidental death & dismemberment (AD&D) insurance, short-term/long-term disability plans, emergency travel benefits, tuition reimbursement, professional membership fee coverage and paid family leave. Regular full-time and part-time employees will receive ten paid holidays in each calendar year. In addition, employees will be eligible to accrue vacation between 10 and 20 days per year and eligible for paid sick leave (and if more generous, in accordance with state and local law).
