- Collect and verify timekeeping information for all employees.
- Calculate and process payroll transactions, including salaries, bonuses, deductions, and taxes.
- Ensure accurate and timely distribution of payroll checks or electronic transfers.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date payroll records for all employees.
- Update employee payroll information, including changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, and job title/description.
- Stay informed about federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant labor laws and regulations.
- Prepare and submit required payroll-related reports to government agencies.
- Administer employee benefits programs related to payroll, such as health insurance, retirement plans, and flexible spending accounts.
- Coordinate with HR and benefits providers to ensure accurate deductions and contributions.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll matters, including pay discrepancies, tax questions, and benefits.
- Collaborate with HR to address and resolve payroll-related issues.
- Prepare and process year-end reports, including W-2 forms and other required documents.
- Coordinate with finance and accounting departments for year-end financial reporting.
- Utilize payroll software to input, process, and retrieve payroll information.
- Collaborate with IT to resolve any technical issues related to payroll systems.
- Assist in internal and external payroll audits.
- Prepare documentation and reports as needed for audit purposes.
- Associates degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Proven experience as a Payroll Specialist or in a similar role.
- Experience in Dayforce or Ceridian Payroll required.
- Knowledge of payroll regulations and compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in using payroll software and Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and confidentiality.
- Ability to work onsite in Miami.
- Comfortable working a temporary assignment.
