    Description

    Job Title:
    Grow/Finish Field Manager Department/Location of Position:Iowa Northeast Iowa servicing locations in the Manchester, Cedar Falls and Ames & Marshalltown area

    Summary of Position:

    This Field Manager Position will work directly with a designated group of contract pork producers to assist them in trouble shooting problem areas and provide solutions for improving production.

    A Field manager manages
    20 producer sites consisting of 50,000-75,000 spaces. You will also help manage customer relationships as well as provide documentation of on farm reports.

    You will work with your Regional Production Manager and veterinarian to arrive at solutions and make decisions that will impact your area and your business unit profitability.

    Through farm visits, producer meetings and information sharing, you will aid the producers in finding the most successful ways of maximizing market hog production on their farm.

    In addition, the service person/field manager helps manage the producer relationship and assist in contract renewals.

    • Producer training, troubleshooting, health management and cost management on farms.
    Auditing facility, Animal Welfare and environmental compliance and work to help producer meet compliance by offering solutions20% - Contract administration duties, pay requests, med/vet ordering, and production meetingsCoaching, training, and developing new farm managersAnimal Welfare and environmental compliance by offering solutionsMed/vet supply orderingBio-Security compliance and action planningAssists in controlling costs associated with feed, supplies, and laborMaintains accurate number integrity for record keepingMakes recommendations for operational improvementsComplete all necessary testing requirements for health/biosecurityAny other duties assigned by the Regional Production Manager

    Success Factors:

    Able to react to a work environment that will change day to day as unexpected things occur in the production system.

    Able to work with people in such a manner to build high morale, create positive energy, and focused commitments to goals and objectives.

    Ability to influence contractors to follow established SOP s and meet established goals and standards through clear communications and regular on-farm interactions.

    Self-motivated and able to organize and prioritize tasks.


    Job Qualifications:
    BS/BA degreein related field or 5 years
    equivalent experience in pork productionComputerknowledge in

    Microsoft Office:
    Word, Excel and OutlookOccasional overnight travel - 15%Ability to motivate and inspire people to achieve high goalsPossess Problem Solving TechniquesDemonstrates knowledge of overall business strategy and operationsDemonstrates written and verbal communication skillsExceptional organizational and communication skillsValid driver s licenseAbility to bend, push, pull, twist, and lift approximately 60+lbs

    Working Conditions:
    Ability to work with all office equipment is required.
    Ability to travel regularly, including overnight as required.
