    • General

    • Directs and manages Marketing and Business Development (BD) functions and teams.
    • Identifies and drives opportunities for future company growth and improvement and takes action to move such
    forward.


    • Takes a leadership role in identifying strategic partnerships, and opportunities.
    • Fulfills role as Singota's lead client facing figure, recognizable and highly respected in the field. Establishes and
    maintains fruitful, trustworthy, knowledgeable, long-term client-Singota relationships. Represents the company with

    all the qualities of a seasoned, experienced, insightful, dynamic leader.


    • Coordinates strategy, planning and tactics across Marketing and BD groups for effective target and lead identification
    and qualification as well as shepherding opportunities through RFP responses, proposal provision, contract

    negotiation, execution and performance to meet regulatory and client expectations and Singota forecasts and

    strategic direction.


    • Performs a critical role as member of the company's leadership team in strategic planning and delivering on
    company's goals.


    • Lead, coach and develop, technically and professionally, direct reports. Attract, hire, train, retain, direct, manage,
    and develop talent. Do both to the level of exceeding expectations of direct reports and supervisor.


    • Co-responsibility with leader of Client Services (i.e. project management) for integrated business planning related to
    all client-facing elements.


    • Actively participate with the leadership team to establish goals in alignment to company strategic plans. Execute
    such plans to meet leadership team goals as well as to meet goals for ROI, ROA, sales and revenue growth,

    profitability.


    • Improve systems and processes to drive excellent customer service for all leads, prospects and clients and meet
    client and regulatory requirements.


    • Ensure that metrics are established, monitored, and reviewed regularly to determine return on spending and make
    adjustments as necessary to maximize return.


    • Create initial and ongoing training; strategically work with HR & Training to continually improve delivery and
    effectiveness of this training for Marketing and BD.


    • Work with other managers and staff to create, improve, and develop departmental functions, training, tools, and
    organizational structure related to client facing team.


    • Monitor and review employee performance.
    • Establish and oversee operating budgets for Marketing and BD.
    • General
    support required of a startup company where everyone is expected to perform multiple tasks both inside and

    outside their department to meet the needs of the business.


    • Business Development
    • Maintains and expands customer base by coaching Business Development team, building and maintaining rapport
    with key clients, and identifying new opportunities.


    • Identify best fit client persona to efficiently identify and qualify leads.
    • Establish and regularly update sales forecasts to provide for company wide effective planning.
    • Actively engages with past, existing, and prospective clients, as well as other industry professionals to solicit
    feedback on Singota performance, areas of improvement, and strategic opportunities.


    • Consistently monitor company capacity, capabilities, client trends for opportunities to capitalize on.
    • Manage the Business Opportunity Review process (BORF) to ensure that all new opportunities are properly vetted
    within the company as to a "pursue "or "not pursue" direction for these opportunities.


    • Achieve operational sales objectives by contributing sales information and recommendations to corporate strategic
    growth plans; tracking departmental metrics; creating business action plans; implementing productivity and

    customer-service standards; identifying marketplace trends.


    • Ensure processes are in place to provide new clients a smooth transition between Business Development and Client
    Services.


    • Marketing
    • Direct Marketing staff (internal and external) to develop and execute comprehensive marketing plans, tools, and
    messages that support company growth and positioning objectives.


    • Provide input, guidance and feedback for marketing strategy and budget.
    • Direct client (existing and prospective) interfacing plans for efficient and effective travel, conferences, and events.
    • Utilize ongoing business analysis and market research to identify target markets, prospective clients and project fit,
    understand competitive and regulatory landscape, and alter sales strategy accordingly.


    • Create and fine-tune funnel from leads to qualified leads to targets to client process.
    • Create and fine-tune funnel from RFP to proposal to service contract execution process.

    Characteristics required include:

    • Proven record in pharmaceutical BD experience and building healthy customer relationships and networks
    • Excellent communication skills – oral, written
    • Trustworthiness and personal integrity – able to maintain a high degree of confidentiality
    • Positive attitude and good judgment; respected by peers and clients
    • Strong business acumen and analytical skills
    • Excellent time management and organizational skills
    • Ability to travel to client sites, conferences, and trade shows
    Requirements

    Work Experience & Educational Requirements:

    • Minimum of 7 years business development experience
    • Minimum of 10 years pharmaceutical and/or life sciences experience
    • Minimum of 3 years management experience in a direct client facing role.
    • Experience with business contract negotiation.
    • Experience and training in MS Office products & CRM systems
    • Preference of working in an entrepreneurial company/culture
    • Minimum of BS in business, management or applicable scientific field.
