- Serving as a senior advisor to management on all aspects of the assigned service delivery area providing advice and guidance on especially complex acquisitions, the modification and interpretation of guidance in major duty areas, and recommendations regarding new policies and procedures;
- Planning and directing the work of the Section overseeing and coordinating the acquisition of supplies, systems, equipment, research, construction, and/or services in support of the Service's programs through the use of a variety of contract types;
- Directing a staff of Contract Specialists in preparing and administering contracts in one or more of the following areas: supplies, equipment, research, construction, and/or services through the use of informal or formal advertising and sole source procurements;
- Developing or overseeing the development of proposals and justifications to meet the Service's contract requirements and researches and advises management on best practices available for application to projects.
- Providing advice and guidance to managers and employees regarding acquisition laws, regulations, processes, procedures and methods; and
- Serving as a first line supervisor, overseeing a staff of Contract Specialists. Alaska Positions: The salary range given above includes base pay and locality pay, you will receive a 2.86% cost of living allowance for Anchorage, Fairbanks, and Juneau, or 4.40% for all other Alaska locations. This allowance is subject to annual review, adjustment, and grade decrease.

Alaska Return Rights:
