Burrow Global has an immediate need for an experienced
Project Cost Analyst for a
9 month temporary assignment with a chemical manufacturer in Lake Charles LA.


Maintain high standard of cost reporting and ensure that the project health status is reflected through accurate tracking and reporting of changes and risk and the remaining contingencies and risk allowances.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Conform and set up of the cost control base according to defined WBS structure
  • Compile and distribute monthly cost reports to all project stakeholders including high level management up to VP level.
  • Track all project expenditures. Review trends, anomalies and correct charging issues.
  • Advise project management of cost trends and their effects on anticipated project expenditures.
  • Facilitate and track monthly cost forecasts by coordination, expediting, and liaising with stakeholders and other functions
  • Processing and facilitating change orders for project managers within AFE projects. Maintain change management log, SAP and cost reports to reflect latest approved budgets.
  • Assist with the evaluation and estimate of change requests.
  • Assist with the verifying and processing of invoices for payment by financial department as needed.
  • Interface with SAP to obtain cost information, set up and close projects and diagnose issues.
  • Assist project management in estimating and tracking of purchase requisitions.
  • Monitor purchase order status and facilitate PO closures.
  • Perform cost reconciliations and analysis.
  • Compiling accruals as requested from Finance through analyses of purchase orders, VIM and service entry information on SAP and interactions with project management and vendors to provide monthly man hours and material costs not yet invoiced
  • Assisting with updating and review of processes and procedures.
  • Provide input into costing methodologies, systems and tools to improve the division's efficiencies, effectiveness and governance role.
  • Assisting and participating in audits.
  • Prepares various cost control and performance measurement analysis
  • Provide support in claims and insurance analyses.
  • Initiate, distribute and monitor weather related AFEs. Track and package cost related to events for insurer's review. Assist management in supporting all cost to ensure reimburse.

Educational Requirement:


  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Accounting or a related field with 8 to 10 years of capital project cost control experience.
  • Project Management Professional Certification or AACE certification (preferred)

Skill needed:


  • Thorough understanding of project management, cost control & accounting principles
  • Thorough understanding of change management principles
  • Ability to simultaneously process data and completed cost reports for multiple projects within the project Portfolio of Chemicals Americas
  • Access / database knowledge / Power Bi / Power Query knowledge
  • In depth knowledge of cost control systems and SAP
  • Extensive Excel and MS Office expertise
  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal, teamwork, written, and verbal skills
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a highpressure environment and consistently meeting monthly reporting timelines
  • Proven ability to work effectively both independently and in a teambased environment.
  • Capability to conduct research into projectrelated issues by independent analysis, critical thinking and problemsolving.
  • Data driven decision making, attention to detail, a professional demeanor, and unquestionable integrity.
  • Ability to work with a wide variety of personnel and stakeholders at different levels of engineering, design, maintenance, and management to VP level as well as external stakeholders.
