    QC Manager - Buildings ConstructionThe Quality Manager is accountable for efficiently functioning the organization's quality assurance team at a multi-building construction jobsite in Brownsville, Texas, ensuring adherence to established quality standards.

    Prior to mobilization in Brownsville during 4Q24, the QC Manager will work in the Houston office to prepare documentation & procedures.

    This role involves devising and executing consistent processes to gauge and uphold quality standards, controls, and protocols and provides a platform for mentoring, training, and leading the QA team of 2-4 personnel.

    The preferred candidate will be responsible for instituting documentation and control procedures and distributing reports for detailed project documentation across all design projects.

    Overseeing the plan review process and integrating project code and user requirements as necessary are integral parts of this role.

    Strong managerial skills, sound independent judgment, and the ability to solve engineering/construction QA/QC issues are essential.


    Responsibilities/Duties:

    • Review project timelines set by superintendents and managers.
    • Identify and implement process enhancements to improve planning and design.
    • Conduct audits on ongoing projects, documenting findings, and distributing reports.
    • Document consistent deficiencies within projects.
    • Attend meetings to conduct project reviews based on QA/QC concerns.
    • Lead training sessions for QA/QC programs.
    • Organize changes to the QA/QC program.
    • Lead or join cross-functional teams on topics like quality management systems.
    • Monitor project quality program execution and ensure adherence to requirements.
    • Evaluate project activities related to quality.
    • Review nonconforming conditions and corrective actions.
    • Report on project quality procedures and manuals to ensure compliance.
    • Develop quality procedures for approval and issuance.
    • Analyze issues and recommend solutions to mitigate risks.
    • Maintain communication with client quality personnel.
    • Direct and assign work to quality specialists.
    • Guide project personnel on quality requirement implementation.
    • Collaborate across functions to integrate quality requirements

    Qualifications and Skills:

    Basic Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in engineering, scientific discipline, business management, or quality assurance (or equivalent experience), with 10 years of progressive experience in relevant fields.
    • Demonstrated experience in quality assurance (QA) within commercial/industrial buildings, including but not limited to assessing and ensuring compliance with relevant standards, implementing QA procedures, and overseeing quality control measures to uphold structural integrity and safety protocols.
    • Knowledge of quality principles and their application to various project activities, including but not limited to current building codes.
    • Ability to collaborate closely with technical teams, senior leadership, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders in developing and managing quality programs and processes.
    • Strong oral and written communication skills.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Experience with Procore project management software preferred.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Familiarity with relevant assurance standards/orders such as ASME NQA-1, ISO 9001, DOE O 414.1C/D, DOE O 210.2A.
    • Auditor/lead auditor training and qualification.
    • Root/apparent cause analysis training.
